afternoon school

The Southridge Afternoon School is composed of four levels: Grade 7, 8, 9, and 10. It is run and operated by Principal, Administrative  Officer, and Personal Formation Officer which make up the High School Operation Committee. The Subject Development Officers assist the Principal on matters pertaining to the academic formation.

Southridge afternoon school program

In 1987, Southridge opened its Night School Program, a full high school scholarship for indigent but academically-deserving students from Muntinlupa City and other neighbouring areas like Paranaque, Las Pinas, Pateros and Makati. The program opened with 25 students in First Year high school. These scholars would attend classes from three in the afternoon to eight in the evening. The Night School Program was soon renamed the Afternoon School adjusting the academic hours from ten in the morning to 6:30 in the evening. The Afternoon School students receive the same education as their Day School counterparts, complete with the same standards and using the same classrooms and facilities. The Afternoon School Program served, and continues to be, Southridge’s way of directly giving back to the Muntinlupa community.

Our Curriculum

The Southridge Curriculum Framework follows that of Understanding by Design (UbD). It is a framework for improving student achievement. Emphasizing the teacher’s critical role as a designer of student learning. UbD works within the standard-driven curriculum to help teachers clarify learning goals, devise and engaging learning activities.

Our Teachers

Our teachers are educational leaders who take pride in their profession. They pursue excellence by doing their work extraordinarily well and by seeking continuous professional improvement. They take further studies and attend faculty development seminars in Southridge and other universities and venues.

In their interaction with their students, they show genuine concern, and empathy to them especially during their mentoring sessions. They find ways and means to transform learning into a joyful experience. They consistently manifest loyalty to the school and actively engage in effective home-school collaboration through periodic meetings with parents.
